Champions Are Everywhere- The Schedules

Keith James Livingstone

The Philosophy, Psychology and Physiology of the Lydiard Training System combine to form the most proven and successful endurance training approach in the world.

Since New Zealander Arthur Lydiard's local club athletes won two gold medals and one bronze in the 1960 Rome Olympics, there have been numerous validations of the general approach at Olympic and World Championship levels for endurance athletes of all types, from many different countries.

Keith Livingstone is a retired chiropractor, former elite distance runner, and an athletics coach. He has been fascinated by the physiology of the Lydiard system for over 30 years.

Keith grew up in the same suburb of Auckland where Arthur Lydiard lived and trained, and was mentored for 5 years by Barry Magee, 1960 Rome Olympics marathon bronze medalist, 1961 World Cup 10000m champion, and one of Arthur Lydiard's first pupils. Barry is still coaching athletes at 87 years of age, using exactly the same training methodology that he learned from the Great Coach.

This simple book explains the core physiology concepts that Arthur Lydiard discovered, pioneered, and applied to great effect over 6 decades ago, long before the concepts were explained by modern science.
