This third edition of the book contains more than 60 new problems over and above the original 480 problems of the second edition. The additional problems cover the whole range of new topics which will also be introduced in the third edition of the author’s main textbook titled theory and applications. There are some other new problems necessary to further enhance the understanding of the topics of importance already existing in the book. There has been no change in the philosophy of this book. It has been designed to serve as a companion volume to the main text to help students gain a thorough quantitative understanding of em concepts that are somewhat difficult to learn.
