Faber, johann melchior, was born Jan. 18, 1743, at Simmershausen, in the neighbour hood Of Hildburghausen, and was probably the brother or cousin of J. E. Faber. In 1768 was appomted professor Of the Hebrew and Greek lan guages at Thorn, West Prussia; in 1770 he be came professor of Greek and Rhetoric at Coburg and in 1774 rector of the gymnasium at Ansbach.
