Daimonic Reality is a sweeping look at otherworldly events in the world around us--UFOs, fairies, phantom animals, visions of the Virgin, alien abductions & mysterious lights in the sky. Rather than simply listing the events, Harpur shows how they can all be tied together using his concept of Daimonic Reality. Starting with a look at the events themselves, he shows how they're connected by using ideas proposed by C.G. Jung & the Romantic poets, Wm Butler Yeats & Wm Blake. He connects the old-fashioned fairies to modern UFO occupants. He highlights the similarities in sightings of Black Dogs, mysterious cats, Yetis, Yowies & Bigfoot. Lights in the sky have existed thru history. They were seen as witches. Now they're UFOs. The ephemeral materializations of Spiritualism's seances have been replaced by tangible crop circles. All manifest Daimonic Reality. Daimonic creatures & events aren't literally real. We'll never obtain unequivocal evidence that any of these entities exist. However, they are daimonically real. If you try to deny the Otherworld's existence, it will simply find other ways to express itself. It's a real thing that we sense in other ways besides the physical senses. The recent plethora of skeptical opinions in the press may actually be causing the Otherworld to produce more tangible signs such as crop circles & untraceable social workers. The Daimonic is part of us & can't be banished by denial & disbelief.
