Standin In The Moonlight
When Jeff Daniels showed up in our town to film the movie "Escanaba in da Moonlight" I wanted in. I jumped through all the loops and eventually landed the job of acting as his stand-in during production. I wanted to document my experience so I took lots of photos and kept a journal, but at the end of shooting they wanted all the rights to my pictures and I didn't think that was fair. So I said no thanks. They sued me but the law was on my side. This may not have been the case if I was hired as an employee, but I was a freelancer so copyright laws came into play which worked out to my advantage. I had to act as my own lawyer since I didn't make a fortune working on the film, but this book isn't really about that. It's about what I had to do to get involved in the making of the film. This was the first book I wrote so it has its share of spelling errors and such, but the story is there. I hope you enjoy it.
