Wilderness Therapy Guide
Wilderness therapy guides facilitate outdoor therapy programs, using nature and adventure-based activities to help clients overcome mental health issues, improve self-esteem, and develop coping mechanisms.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Wilderness therapy guides work with clients individually and in groups, leading them through activities such as hiking, camping, rock climbing, and ropes courses. They provide instruction and support, helping clients to develop the skills and confidence needed to overcome their challenges.
In addition to leading activities, wilderness therapy guides also provide counseling and support to clients. They help clients to identify the root causes of their problems, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and create a plan for continued growth and recovery.
