Golf Course Irrigation Specialists are responsible for maintaining the irrigation systems that keep golf courses green and healthy. They work with a variety of equipment, including pumps, valves, and sprinklers, to ensure that the right amount of water is applied to the course. Irrigation Specialists must also be familiar with the different types of grasses and soils found on golf courses, as well as the effects of weather and climate on irrigation needs. In addition to maintaining the irrigation system, Irrigation Specialists may also be responsible for other tasks, such as mowing the greens, repairing bunkers, and aerating the fairways.
