What Library Assistants Do
The primary responsibility of library assistants is to provide customer service to patrons. In addition to their customer service duties, library assistants may also be responsible for a variety of other tasks, such as:

- Supervising other library staff
How to Become a Library Assistant
There are a variety of ways to become a library assistant. Some library assistants have a bachelor's degree in library science, while others have an associate's degree or a high school diploma. Some library assistants start their careers as library pages or volunteers, and then move up to library assistant positions.
