Are you passionate about football and enjoy sharing your knowledge with others? Do you have a proven track record of success in coaching football at the youth, high school, or collegiate level? If so, then a career as a Football Coach may be the perfect fit for you.
Education and Certification
A bachelor's degree in physical education or a related field is typically required to become a Football Coach. Some Football Coaches also hold a master's degree in sports management or a related field.
There are a number of certifications available for Football Coaches, including the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Coaching Certification and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaching Accreditation Program.
Skills and Responsibilities
Football Coaches are responsible for planning and conducting practices, developing game strategies, and motivating their players. They must also be able to work with athletes of all ages and skill levels, and be able to handle the pressure of competition.
Successful Football Coaches possess a number of skills, including:
