Corrosion consultants are in high demand due to the increasing need to protect infrastructure and assets from corrosion. They work with engineers, architects, and other professionals to develop and implement corrosion control plans.

Job Duties

Corrosion consultants typically perform the following duties:

Education and Training

Most corrosion consultants have a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field. They may also have experience in the construction or manufacturing industries. Some corrosion consultants are certified by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE). Taking online courses such as "Protecting the World: Introducing Corrosion Science and Engineering" can be an excellent way to prepare for a career as a corrosion consultant.
