Customer service representatives are in charge of building and maintaining relationships with customers and providing support. Customer service representatives often have to quickly learn about new products and services so that they can effectively assist customers across multiple communication channels.
Education and Training
To become a customer service representative, you will need a high school diploma at minimum. Many customer service representatives have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a field such as business, communications, or information technology. Additionally, some customer service representatives have technical certifications, such as the CompTIA A+ certification or the Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification, to demonstrate their proficiency in customer service technologies and software.
