Directors of Technology are responsible for the planning, implementation, and management of all technology-related aspects of an organization. They work with senior management to develop and execute strategic technology plans and budgets, and they oversee the daily operations of the IT department. Directors of Technology must have a deep understanding of both technology and business, and they must be able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Educational Background

Most Directors of Technology have a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Some may also have an MBA or other advanced degree in business. In addition to their formal education, Directors of Technology typically have many years of experience in IT management. They may have started their careers as software engineers or IT administrators, and they may have worked their way up the ranks to their current position.
