Space Surveillance Analysts are responsible for monitoring objects in space, including satellites, asteroids, and debris. They use a variety of sensors and techniques to track these objects and determine their orbits. Space Surveillance Analysts also provide data and analysis to support space exploration, satellite communications, and national security.

Education and Training

Most Space Surveillance Analysts have a bachelor's degree in astronomy, physics, or a related field. They may also have experience working in a related field, such as satellite operations or radar systems.

Some Space Surveillance Analysts also have a master's degree or Ph.D. in a related field. This additional education can provide them with a deeper understanding of the field and may qualify them for more advanced positions.

Skills and Knowledge

Space Surveillance Analysts must have a strong understanding of orbital mechanics and astrodynamics. They must also be proficient in using a variety of sensors and data analysis techniques.
