Golf Course Equipment Manager
Assisting in all aspects of golf course maintenance and ensuring that the course is in top playing condition is the job of a golf course equipment manager. Daily routines begin with the communication of the day’s maintenance plans and safety precautions to the grounds crew, before the manager proceeds to inspect the course, taking note of any areas that need urgent attention. Prioritizing the day’s tasks, the manager assigns duties to the crew. These include mowing and watering the greens, fairways, and tees. Occasionally, the manager may operate heavy equipment to trim trees, collect debris, or aerate the ground on the course. They may also maintain the irrigation system, ensuring optimal water distribution across the fairways. To keep the course looking pristine, the manager may oversee landscaping work, including planting trees and flowers. With an in-depth understanding of budgeting, a golf course equipment manager also monitors equipment costs, schedules repairs and maintenance, and may take the lead on the purchasing of new equipment when required.
