LEED AP
LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) is a certification that recognizes individuals with the knowledge and skills to lead sustainable design and construction projects. LEED APs are responsible for ensuring that projects meet the LEED rating system, which is a set of standards for environmentally sustainable buildings. Earning a LEED AP credential can help professionals advance their careers in the green building industry.
Education and Training
There are several paths to becoming a LEED AP. Some professionals earn a bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field. Others may have experience in the green building industry and choose to take the LEED AP exam without completing a formal degree program. Regardless of their educational background, all LEED APs must pass the LEED AP exam, which is administered by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
