Map Technician
Map Technicians are responsible for creating and maintaining maps. They use a variety of software and tools to create maps, including geographic information systems (GIS) software. Map Technicians may also work with other professionals, such as engineers and architects, to develop plans and designs.
Education and Training
Map Technicians typically need a high school diploma or equivalent. Some employers may prefer candidates with a college degree in geography, cartography, or a related field. Map Technicians can also learn the skills needed for the job through on-the-job training or by taking courses at a community college or vocational school.
