Defi Analyst is a career path for those who are coming from a background of finance, development, mathematics, or computer science. Whether you are a software developer working in computer programming and looking for a new niche or an investment banker or wealth manager looking to break into the digital currency space or an analytics professional in the field of data science, there is a place for you. Assuming you possess the right kind of mindset to continue to stay ahead of the curve and adapt to new innovations, there is a lot to learn about financial markets, data analytics, and development. The infrastructure is still being actively created in the DeFi space with new tools and protocols emerging rapidly as this new financial framework is being developed and improved. DeFi analysts work with these tools and technologies and explore how they can be used to earn profit and develop new financial products.
Day-to-Day Tasks
Depending on the type of organization and the specific role as a DeFi analyst, you will be working on some or all of these tasks: code and blockchains to help create new products, perform due diligence to measure risk, identify project risks, and develop trading strategies. Some DeFi analysts focus primarily on research and developing strategies using technology to build tools and dashboards to measure your performance. With the use of mathematics and data analysis, you will work to develop models that will help to identify new trading and investment opportunities.
Challenges
There are a number of challenges to this role. Always remember that every investment opportunity has an element of risk. Digital currencies are very volatile and can swing wildly. Blockchains and the many tools and protocols are constantly evolving and changing, which requires continuous learning. This can be a challenge for those who do not actively seek to learn and adapt to a dynamic environment.
