Medical Toxicologist
Medical Toxicology is a specialized branch of medicine that deals with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of poisoning and other adverse effects of drugs and other chemicals. Medical Toxicologists are experts in the identification, evaluation, and management of poisoning and other drug-related emergencies. They work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, poison control centers, and research laboratories.
Education and Training
To become a Medical Toxicologist, you will need a strong foundation in medicine and toxicology. Most Medical Toxicologists have a medical degree (MD or DO) and have completed a residency in medical toxicology or emergency medicine. Some Medical Toxicologists also have a PhD in toxicology or a related field.
