Chef Engineer
Chefs are in charge of the kitchen and managing the kitchen staff. They plan menus, order food, and make sure that the food is prepared and served properly. Chef Engineers have the additional responsibility of overseeing the engineering aspects of the kitchen, including the design and maintenance of the kitchen equipment. They also work with architects and engineers to ensure that the kitchen is designed and built to meet the specific needs of the restaurant.
Education and Training
There are a number of different ways to become a Chef Engineer. Some people start out as chefs and then earn a degree in engineering. Others start out with a degree in engineering and then gain experience in the food service industry. There are also a number of culinary schools that offer programs in Chef Engineering.
