Avionics Systems Engineers design, develop, and test electrical and electronic systems for aircraft, spacecraft, and other vehicles. They work with a variety of technologies, including radar, navigation, communication, and flight control systems. Avionics Systems Engineers must have a strong understanding of electrical engineering, computer science, and physics. They must also be able to work effectively in a team environment and have excellent communication skills.

Job Duties

Avionics Systems Engineers typically perform the following job duties:

  • Design and develop electrical and electronic systems for aircraft, spacecraft, and other vehicles
  • Test and evaluate avionics systems to ensure they meet performance requirements
  • Troubleshoot and repair avionics systems
  • Work with other engineers and technicians to integrate avionics systems into aircraft and spacecraft

Education and Training
