Hair Educators are responsible for teaching individuals how to cut, color, and style hair. They may work in a variety of settings, including beauty schools, salons, and barber shops. Hair Educators need to be knowledgeable about the latest hair trends and techniques, and they must be able to effectively communicate their knowledge to students.

Education and Training

While there are many Hair Educators who come from diverse backgrounds, often the most common pathway to starting a career as a Hair Educator is by attending cosmetology school. Attending cosmetology school will provide the cosmetology student with the knowledge and technical skills necessary to cut, color, and style hair. Cosmetology programs typically prepare students for their licensure exam, which must be passed in order to work as a cosmetologist and offer hair care services.
