Electrical Field Service Technician
An Electrical Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. They may also work on power plants, substations, and other electrical infrastructure. Field Service Technicians are responsible for ensuring that electrical systems are safe and efficient and for troubleshooting and resolving electrical problems.
Education and Training
Electrical Field Service Technicians typically need a high school diploma or equivalent and some postsecondary education in electrical technology or a related field. Many employers prefer candidates with an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. Some states or municipalities may require that Field Service Technicians be licensed or certified.
