Bookkeeping Basics

This first course in a four-part series introduces bookkeeping and accounting concepts. It covers the role of a bookkeeper, accounting measurement, double entry accounting, and the ethical responsibilities of bookkeepers.

Assets in Accounting

In this course, you will focus on accounting for assets. You will gain an understanding of common asset types, learn how to account for inventory, calculate cost of goods sold, and work with Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E).

Liabilities and Equity in Accounting

In this course, you will learn about liability and equity accounts and their effect on the balance sheet. You will explore the various types of liability, including current and long term, payroll, and sales tax. Additionally, you will learn about the equity portion of the accounting equation and how to account for changes in owner’s equity.

Financial Statement Analysis

In this final course, apply your accounting skills towards financial statement analysis. Learn to reconcile accounts, check accuracy, and troubleshoot errors. Practice applying analytical methods to key financial statements to inform business decisions.
