La creciente demanda de recursos como el agua y la energía, ponen de relevancia la importancia de ser sostenibles en los servicios de agua. El curso introduce los principales conceptos para el análisis de los sistemas de abastecimiento de agua potable bajo el enfoque de la sostenibilidad. Se hará uso de la herramienta QATIUM en su versión libre, al ser esta una alternativa novedosa y de fácil manejo. El estudiante, desarrollará en el primer tema introductorio conceptos básicos relacionados con la industria del agua, su integración con los ODS y el cambio climático. La segunda unidad desarrollará los conceptos en torno a la eficiencia en el uso de agua en las ciudades, balance de agua, pérdidas y gestión de la demanda. En la tercera unidad se aborda el tema de eficiencia energética en el sector del agua, nexo agua – energía, eficiencia energética, bombeos y presión. Por último, en la unidad 4 se plantean una serie de ejercicios prácticos que recogen y amplían los conceptos que se vieron anteriormente.
