Technician Pharmacy Law

Heads up! This course may be archived and/or unavailable.

The Technician is a key member of the pharmacy team. Working under the direct supervision and control of the Pharmacist, the Technician performs essential duties in a complex work environment. Without the assistance of the Technicians, the Pharmacists would not have the additional time necessary for them to expand pharmacy services in today’s changing health care environment. This module will provide an overview of the qualifications, responsibilities, and expectations of the Technician. Using several case study examples, you will have a better understanding on why the Technician must be aware of all federal and state laws. The role of the Technician varies from state to state, depending on the rules and statutes in each state. It is the responsibility of the Technician to be knowledgeable and follow all federal and state pharmacy laws in the state(s) in which they practice.
