Fake News and Media’s Role in Global Emergencies
Media plays a critical role in emergencies as one of the key ways to safely inform the general public. James Del dives into the Media’s business model and why, in a field that relies on capturing your attention, "fake news" can spread faster than facts. He shares his own list of excellent resources at hand to remain informed and how you can help stop the spread of misinformation. James is the head of media at Singularity University and the publisher of Singularity Hub and Futurism.com, a news site dedicated to futuristic science and technology. He’s spent the last 12 years working in and around media and advertising, and studied Intellectual Property in the Digital Age at NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
