Tube Buddy is an incredibly useful chrome extension for YouTube that is very helpful for YouTube creators. I encourage you to install it because it will provide you with information as you browse YouTube as a viewer

You must verify your YouTube account so that you can Live Stream and publish videos longer than 15 minutes

Monetization

There are  many ways to earn money from your YouTube channel. We will discuss 5 of them - A Digital Product, Affiliation, Sponsorship, Ad Revenue, and Patreon

A digital product is the most effective  way to monetize your YouTube channel. If you have a $20 monthly recurring product, you can earn college degree income from a few  thousand subscribers.

Sponsorship is when you are  paid to make videos about a particular  subject or paid to talk about a particular  product in your videos.

Affiliate links give you a "commision" % of every sign up through your link. Affiliate payments usually vary from 5%-25%

Once you can monetize your YouTube channel, you will receive money from ads that YouTube places on your videos. This is not a major source  of  income for most YouTubers as ad revenue  is generally quite small compared to other revenue on YouTube.

You can create a patreon which will allow your audience to send you support every month

YouTube Creator Studio Classic

"Creator Studio" is YouTube back end. It is what you see as a content creator on YouTube and it allows you to view your Analytics, Upload Videos, Comment, and upgrade your channel.

YouTube provides you with more analytics about your viewers, subscriptions, and videos than you can imagine! YouTube provides incredibly useful analytics and learning to understand them will allow you to become a better YouTuber  by comparing how your videos perform.

The Video Manager allows you to upload videos and modify your existing videos.

The comments section provides one place where you can respond to comments on ALL of your YouTube videos

The Channel shows you what upgrades are  available for your YouTube channel and also tells you what requirements you need to meet to enable them.

Upload defaults save you LOADS of time by automating the things that you have to do with every video

Core Concepts

In this video we discuss Analytics in more detail, and we cover the pros and cons of short videos vs long videos

Creating content and publishing on a consistent predictable basis is CRITICAL to success on YouTube

In order to make the best out of YouTube, you'll need to make videos about a concept that you have some kind of emotional attachment too. The desire to make money alone is not enough to be successful on YouTube

Most YouTubers spend more time editing their videos than recording them. Some shows require hundreds  of hours of editing for a 20 minute episode. Be VERY careful about relying on editing! You should focus on recording new content, not editing videos.

Most  success in life comes from meeting other individuals who bring change into your life. Jump on any opportunity you get to collaborate with another YouTuber. Even if the relationship goes south, it is going to have a positive net effect on your YouTube channel in the long run.

You don't need fancy equipment. Do NOT buy equipment before establishing regular recording habbits. It is pointless to buy a $600 camera unless you are already using a camera every day and KNOW you will use it often.

Core Concepts Quiz
The 10 Components of a YouTube Video

All YouTube videos should have 3 parts, even if the video is recorded in one take. 1- Introduction. 2- Content. 3- Conclusion

Video Titles are one of the ways you communicate with your audience. Be aware that many subscribers will not watch every video. That being said, almost every subscriber will read the titles of the videos that you publish.

Your description should include most  of the information that your video includes. If one person were to watch the video, and one person were to read  the description, both of  those individuals should be able to agree on what  the  video is about. It is VERY important that your description explains your video in detail, because YouTube looks at descriptions when users search for keywords.

Tags are one of the 3 ways that people "find" your videos. Make sure that  your tags are specific to each video you make - don't use identical tags on every video.

Thumbnails allow your videos to stand out from one another and be more easily identified next to other YouTube videos.

Scheduling content is one of the BEST habits you can have  as  a YouTuber. Pick a time of day, and every time you upload a video, make sure to schedule the video to be published at  that time.

Playlists enable you to share multiple videos with one link. Every video you make should be in at least 1 playlist.

Social Media enables you to grow your YouTube audience faster than YouTube alone. Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest are FANTASTIC ways to promote your YouTube channel.

Styles of Video Recording

Good Lighting is consistent, and a little bright. A good trick to determine lighting is to look at people's eyes - you should be able to see the color  of their eyes. If you see shadows in their eye sockets, that means that the lighting situation is  not ideal. The easiest  way to get perfect lighting is to record a video outside in the daytime when it is cloudy and there  is no direct sunlight.

This is the best  way to record videos about computer content. People like this format allot because  your face is there and they can hear you while there is also stuff going on in the computer screen.

This is a basic recording form that works well for software and other tutorials on a computer. It is always better to include a face but many people do not show their faces on YouTube. I believe  that  this is a major mistake in most situations

Fixed Camera recording provides  the highest quality video. However, it can be hard  to capture scenes and views  and  non conversation videos without moving the camera.

Mobile Camera recording provides lower quality of video, but it is often easier to talk while you are moving. Some viewers prefer constantly changing scenery because it gives them something to look at aside  from your face.

Wondershare Filmora

Filmora allows you to edit your videos once they have been recorded. You can to many things with filmora, in this section we will go over the basic ways I use the  program.

The first step with filmora is  importing the videos that you want to edit

You'll often need  to cut up your video and get rid of certain sections and combine other sections. Learning to cut and move segments is quick and easy.

Blurring videos is  very useful when your video has personnel information that cannot be public

You can easily increase or decrease the play speed  of your videos

If audio conditions are not ideal, you can edit  your audio digitally to make it sound better  and eliminate wind and other background noise.

Changing the color schemes of your videos is a very easy way to make them "pop" and look more unique

Once you have  finished your edits, you need to export the video. Filmora will "build" your video and output the finished file to the default video location.
