Reviews summary

Practical cloud security with cisco focus

According to students, this course offers a positive and well-structured introduction to securing cloud resources, specifically through a Cisco lens. Learners frequently highlight the practicality of the labs and demonstrations, which help solidify theoretical knowledge. The instructor's clarity and knowledge are also highly praised. Many found the DevSecOps module particularly insightful. While some newer learners found that the course assumes some prior knowledge of Cisco products, and a few older reviews mentioned content needing updates, more recent feedback indicates it remains highly relevant, especially for those preparing for certifications like CCNP Security. It is widely considered a strong foundation in cloud security rather than an exhaustive deep dive.
Some older content, but remains highly relevant.
"Some content could be updated for the latest Cisco product versions, but overall a valuable resource."
"Decent course but felt a bit outdated in parts. Some of the Cisco product discussions didn't align with the latest versions or best practices."
"It’s perfect for preparing for the CCNP Security exam, especially the cloud portions."
The DevSecOps section is particularly strong.
"The DevSecOps section was particularly insightful, showing how to embed security throughout the pipeline."
"The DevSecOps part was general enough to be useful though."
"I found the DevSecOps module very relevant to current industry practices and highly applicable."
Knowledgeable instructors explain complex topics well.
"The instructor explained everything clearly, even complex topics like shared responsibility models."
"The instructors are very knowledgeable and articulate."
"I appreciate the clear structure and good explanations of topics throughout the course."
Hands-on exercises deepen understanding and application.
"Labs were very practical and hands-on, making complex topics easier to grasp."
"The practical demonstrations were a huge plus, really solidified the theoretical knowledge."
"The hands-on labs were challenging but incredibly rewarding."
Requires familiarity with cloud and Cisco basics.
"The course content is relevant, but it often assumes a high level of prior knowledge of both cloud and Cisco products."
"As someone newer to Cisco, I struggled with some of the specific product configurations."
"I needed to supplement with outside resources to fully grasp some areas presented."
Best for introduction, may lack advanced depth.
"Some parts felt a bit rushed, especially the more advanced configuration examples, and I wished there were more in-depth labs for those."
"I found the explanations to be quite superficial in some areas. It felt like a survey course rather than a 'core security' course."
"Don't expect it to be an exhaustive deep dive into every single Cisco cloud security product. It provides a strong framework."
