This is a test preparation course that will help you pass the road test to get your driver’s license. It is organized into nine video lessons, with in-car driving videos that show you what to do as well as lecture videos that explain the concepts. This course is NOT another slideshow course with a voice-over, these are REAL videos.

Who is this course for?

This course is for anyone who needs to take the road test in order to get their driver’s license. It is based on Washington state, but the concepts are applicable nationwide.

This course is for:

  • Teenagers

  • Parents of Teenagers

  • Adults getting their first license

  • People who recently moved here

People who had a license and lost it, and need to take the test to get it back

What’s in this course?

This is a test prep course. This course will help you pass the road test to get your driver’s license. I want you to walk into your road test with the knowledge of what you’ll need to do in order to pass, so that you can be calm and pass your test.

You will learn:

  • Exactly what you need to do on the test

  • The words you will hear when they give you instructions

  • What to do and what NOT to do on each maneuver

  • The good driving habits that increase your chances of passing

  • How to avoid little mistakes that can add up to a failing score

The big mistakes that will make you FAIL, instantly

Warning: This course is will not teach you how to drive. This course will tell you what you need to do in order to pass the test, but you need to practice in order to develop your skills. You must learn and practice these maneuvers before you take the test. If you don’t know how to drive, you should take some driving lessons.

Course outline

This course is divided up into nine lessons. Each lesson has a four to twelve minute video, as well as a cheat sheet to help you practice. Some of the lessons will cover the major maneuvers that you have to perform on the test, such as parallel parking and backing around a corner. Other lessons will cover the good driving habits that increase your chances of passing.

The maneuvers we will cover include

  • Starting and merging

  • Turns

  • Parking on a hill

  • Backing around a corner

  • Parallel parking

The good driving habits include

  • Using good vision

  • Knowing how to control the car

  • Signs, signals, and lanes

We’ll also talk about how the scoring works, and how you can make that work to your advantageTwo Important Hints

1. You can totally bomb on a couple of maneuvers and still pass the test. So if you’re really bad at something like parallel parking, don’t worry about it. It’s just one small part of the test. As long as you do well on the rest of the test, you’ll do fine.

2. Using good vision is crucial to passing your test. Good vision means that you look where you’re going. It means that you look over your shoulder to check your blind spot, and that you turn around and look out the rear window whenever you drive backwards.

Vision is scored in many different places on the test. Which means that if you’re not using good vision, if you aren’t looking where you’re going, you can lose points over and over again. All of that can add up to a failing score.

Introduction

This lecture introduces the course and tells you what to expect. At the end of the video there are two very important hints about the test.

Look where you’re going. This is one of the most important lessons in this course.

Look where you’re going means using good vision, and using good vision is crucial to passing your drive test. Vision is a component of almost every part of the test. This means that you can lose points for bad vision over and over again. If you repeatedly fail to use good vision and look where you’re going, you will fail the test.

This lesson talks about scoring on the driving test. You'll learn about the automatic failures that will make you fail the test instantly. You'll also learn how to avoid the little mistakes that can add up to a failing score.

Starting and merging are very easy to do if you follow the correct procedure. This lesson uses in-car videos to show you how to start from the side of the road and merge into traffic

In Washington state, turns are worth the most points on the test. There are a lot of things to remember about turning. This lesson uses in-car videos to show you how to make proper turns on your road test.

In order to pass the test, you need to be able to control the car. This includes using the engine and brakes, as well as headlights and windshield wipers. This lesson shows you where you can lose points on the test for not using the controls properly.

Backing around a corner simulates backing out of a driveway or parking space, and tests your ability to control the car when you drive in reverse. This lesson uses in-car videos to show you how to back your car around a corner.

On your test, you have to see and react to road signs, stop signs, traffic lights, pavement markings, etc. This lesson uses in-car videos to demonstrate things like complete stops, changing lanes, and what not to do at stop lights, stop signs, and intersections.

This lesson uses in-car videos to demonstrate the errors to avoid when parking your vehicle on a hill during the test.

Parallel parking - everyone's favorite maneuver! This lesson uses in-car videos to show what the examiner is looking for on parallel parking.
