Differentiation

AP®︎ Calculus AB,

The chain rule tells us how to find the derivative of a composite function. This is an exceptionally useful rule, as it opens up a whole world of functions (and equations!) we can now differentiate. Also learn how to use all the different derivative rules together in a thoughtful and strategic manner.

This course contains 10 segments:

The chain rule: introduction

The chain rule: further practice

Implicit differentiation

Differentiating inverse functions

Differentiating inverse trigonometric functions

Selecting procedures for calculating derivatives: strategy

Selecting procedures for calculating derivatives: multiple rules

Calculating higher-order derivatives

Further practice connecting derivatives and limits

Optional videos

Some things are not explicitly required by the AP Calculus AB course, but many teachers cover them and we also find them useful. We've gathered those optional videos here for your convenience.
