This course is a high level overview of creating 360 degree virtual tours with drones. Students will get to see a finished aerial virtual tour created with a Mavic 2 Pro, and Kuula (for online display). They will also learn about the steps required to create usable 360 degree images for their own tours.
This course is a high level overview of creating 360 degree virtual tours with drones. They will also learn about the steps required to create usable 360 degree images for their own tours.
Students should note, they do not need to use the same drone used in this class, but they do need a drone capable of automatic 360 degree photography. Many of the newest DJI drones offer some type of 360 degree image capture, and for older models 3rd party applications can also help capture images for creating a 360 degree photo. Students should look into their drone features prior to attempting to create 360 images.
Students will also see a basic flight setup with the Mavic 2 Pro, a flight with the drone, and image capturing for a 360 degree photo.
Image editing and post processing will not be major subjects in this course. There are many 360 degree photo editing courses out there for students, so we won't spend much time on that part of virtual tour generation. This class is more about introducing the concept of aerial virtual tours and what you'll need to start building your own.
When students finish this course they should have a basic understanding of the tools they'll need to share 360 degree virtual tours for fun, and for profit as well.
In this lecture we'll talk a little about 360 Degree Virtual Tours in general. Often when people think of 360 tours they immediately think of real estate tours. But in this class we'll learn that we can take our 360 Photo tours beyond the limits of a home for sale. Using our drones, we can create tours that span recreation locations, business locations, construction locations, and more!
In this video we'll take a look at part of a 360 Degree outdoor tour, and what went into creating it. Please keep in mind, we're using a Mavic 2 Pro for capturing our tour images, and your setup may be a little different based on the type of drone you're using. This isn't a class on drone setup, it's an over view on how these virtual tours come together using our drones.
In this lecture we're going to go to a flight location and setup the Mavic 2 Pro for capturing 360 degree photos. We'll quickly see some of the settings required to capture images to build a 360. And we will see 1 image captured while flying the drone for our 360 tour.
We've captured our images, so now it's time to see what we got. Students will see that the automated panorama mode in the Mavic 2 Pro created images that are almost web ready right out of the drone. Of course we can take things further and edit the RAW images for additional "wow factor" if needed using PTGui and Lightroom.
In this lecture we're going to take a 360 image created from the DNGs my Mavic 2 Pro captured and talk a little about the types of post processing you can do with the images we stitched together from our flight.
In this talk we're going to review what we've seen in the course. At this point I hope students are getting ideas for their own unique aerial tours, and maybe some ideas as how they could monetize their drone virtual tours as well. It's also possible to create mixed tours that showcase locations from the air, and on the ground. Virtual tours can even include video and audio as well.
Now it's time for you to start planning our your own virtual tours for fun and potentially for profit as well.
In this final video we'll see one more 360 image associated with a high value raw land site for sale in the Prescott area. Aerial 360s can be valuable for such sites. Finally, we'll wrap things up, and let you know how you can keep up with what we're doing in our drone / imaging business through our weekly live streams and main website. Thanks for being part of this short course!
