About the Instructor:

My name is Le'Siran but you can call me Liz. I help and support children and families for 20years. I complete 121 sessions to boost confidence, help overcome experiences of abuse and support them to understand and manage their emotions. The meaningful work and great results I have seen led me to become a certified Therapeutic Play Practitioner (not clinically trained) and I am also a Life Coach for Women and Business Consultant. Many of my clients have children and asked me to create a course that supported their families - so here I am. I've developed this course which combines my experience as a nursery manager, social worker, Barnados & refuge worker (amongst other similar roles) and my love for art and play therapy. I've seen first hand, the benefits of working creatively and therapeutically with children and families. It's wonderful to see them empowered & motivated to develop their emotional literacy, social skills, support them to find their voice, and of course growing bucket loads of confidence.

I look forward to seeing both you and your child on this Building Confidence & Self-Expression Course.

If you have questions, suggestions or comments, please do get in touch. I will respond to every contact received.

I welcome you to contact me, it would be great to hear from you.

Get creative & download Wheel of Emotions sheet.

We all have emotions and it is ok to fell every single one of them! It's normal. So, look at Wheel of Emotions and try to think of a memory, or make up a story related to that emotion. For example:

Tim woke up in the morning, ready for his 10th birthday. He knew he was going to get lots of presents. It was a weekend so everyone else was still in bed. He usually has a card waiting for him in front of the TV but this year, there was nothing. He thought everyone had forgot. He walked into the front room, there was nothing. He checked the post, nothing. He even checked the downstairs bathroom but nothing. Tim thought he might as well make himself some breakfast, so he went to the kitchen. He opened the door and heard "SURPRISE." His two brothers, sister and parents had made him a surprise birthday breakfast! Tim was so SURPRISED he actually thought his family were all still in bed!

Do you see? The story used the word 'SURPRISED' which is the same word on the Wheel of Emotions sheet. If you can, do this activity with an adult too, they can join in.

Ok, why don't you give it go?

Choose an emotion, make up your own story or, of course, think of a memory and write that down. See where your imagination takes you...

Here is an example of how to complete the Wheel of Emotions Activity.

Mandalas are patterns that use straight lines to make pictures.

They are known to make you feel relaxed.

You've been working hard, so chill out this week with Mandala patterns!

You can decorate them how you like!

Finish the sentence is instant! It gets you to think quickly about your emotions and understand you that little bit better.

This helps us learn how to manage difficult situations or deal with a fall out with your friends.

Expressing how we feel in a healthy way that does not hurt others is important, so thinking about how we behave is important.

Have fun!

It's time to Gift Someone.

It's nice to make an effort to make someone feel special, so this week we'll focus on just that!

Download the Gift Someone booklet and choose a gift to make for someone else.

Enjoy x
