En este curso, nos enfocaremos a dos de las enfermedades más comunes que afectan a la cavidad bucal, la caries dental y la enfermedad periodontal.

En la primera sección, hablaremos sobre la bioquímica de la caries dental y como esta es resultado del fenómeno de transición de la disbiósis de la película. Esto lo correlacionaremos con los fenómenos de remineralización dental, así como con el flúor y su relación con la salud dental.

Posteriormente hablaremos sobre la biología de la enfermedad periodontal. Veremos cómo los cambios en el ecosistema bucal conducen a los cambios inflamatorios, que perpetúan los estados de gingivitis y enfermedad periodontal.

Asimismo, describiremos cuáles son los cambios celulares que se van dando durante esa transición.

Finalmente, hablaremos sobre la relación de la cavidad bucal con las enfermedades sistémicas.
