What people are saying

packet tracer

Doesn't really show how to setup labs with either packet tracer or physical hardware, just the commands to run.

Would be great if he could provide instruction on how to set up in packet tracer.

This course is going through only theory classes no practical labs using packet tracer or any other.

I paired this with David Bombal's Packet Tracer course and i feel more confident every time i study So far he's just talking about the course and not getting into the actual course.

Follow along in packet tracer or home lab equipment and you should do well.

I don't have any physical equipment yet but I am following along with every lab in Packet Tracer, which I highly recommend if you don't have a home lab.

A couple commands are not in Packet Tracer but most are.

Only criticism would be that some terminology or topologies was not explained so I couldn't follow on Packet Tracer but google search fixed that.

Packet Tracer, GNS3, Boson NetSim ...

Seeing Chris go through the commands while also doing it on packet tracer keeps you fully engaged and assist in the learning process.

Recommend using Packet Tracer along with Chris during the labs.

I strongly recommend following each topic with a Packet Tracer Activity (find challenges around the web), and then doing them all a second time at the end of the course as revision.

If you have packet tracer it is possible to go through most of the labs yourself.

Also, I wish Chris had a tutorial on packet tracer and a video explaining how students could install Cisco IOS.

osi model

confusing on OSI model, its funny, im about to graduate with a BS in computer networking and i forgot all the material in regards to the Cisco classes cause those were the first ones i took years ago and haven't worked with them since.

please add an example of how the OSI model works Chris breaks everything down into easy-to-understand sections, and then explains why things should be done a certain way.

Best explanation of the OSI model I've heard.

Chris does an excellent job portraying his wisdom from real-world experience and why it's important to understand the OSI model in the first lesson.

clear explanation on the OSI model and TCP/IP model.

Normally I HATE the OSI model but this was more palatable than normal.

Its easy to understand, he illistrates perfectly how the OSi model operates.

I’ve been through material on the OSI model countless times but get the years, but I still learned something new with this instruction.

These videos are not my first venture into the world of Cisco and I feel like I have not had the OSI model explained so simply.

No unnecessary information and practical application 1. i like Chris voice 2. i like how he share knowledge 3. i like his approach to teaching 4. humble guy i think he is I understood all about the things of OSI model.

Knowing the OSI model and really understanding it will cut your troubleshooting time down dramatically.

Awesome start of the OSI model and what basics are necessary to start the process of understanding the material Excellent Instructor Exceptional and knowledgable instructor This course is providing a generous amount of extra detail and practical insights that are key to understanding the material.

This is the easiest to understand explanation I have found of the OSI model and how data flows through it.

Also has a great presentation style Introduction of OSI model in an easy to understand way.

official cert guide

Paired with the Official Cert Guide and Boson ExSim, pushed me through passing both test (a few years apart) on the first attempt.

I have zero networking experience, but I wanted to get into the field so I took your course and read the "200-125 Official Cert Guide" by Wendell Odom.

This is a great supplement to reading the official cert guide, and plenty of practice :) Great Course.

I passed my ICND1 100-101 using the videos from Chris and 100-101 Official Cert Guide from Odem.

Watch the videos, make notes and you will fly through the chapters of official cert guide.

Labs are better than other courses I use Chris Bryant has amazing content, I used this paired with the Official Cert Guide, Labs purchased from Pearson Vue, and David Bombal's content.

I'm using this course as one part of my CCNA study, along with the Official Cert Guide Library (2 books) and another video series.

I would advise you also purchasing the official cert guide by Wendell Odem, it might be dry compared to other sources but what it does not contain you don't need to know.

I have been trying to study for my ccna with the official cert guide from cisco.

I had picked up the Official Cert Guide at B&N earlier today, and then saw this course on sale so grabbed it too.

step by step

I've watched a lot of online training, I love that Chris double checks everything and goes step by step.

I'm learning step by step :) So far the course it seems great for someone with some kind of general network knowledge.

Excellent teacher ... goes step by step I like the way Chris explains everything.

I'm really enjoying the course so far... Easy to understand... Just taking it step by step.

For example, if Chis is talking about a switch in a diagram the switch should be highlighted and zoomed in on to show step by step of the diagram and to the next device and router etc.

yes , it's worth watching all topics step by step...keep up the gud works chris.

i will personally come and meet you sir after i pass my exam :D He takes you step by step to explain the break downs of how the 6 layers of OSI/TCP/IP models function.

There's an entire community walking with you step by step, students just like you aiming for the same goal.

He breaks down every step and explains what he does step by step for those of us who don't have as much experience on lab equipment as he obviously does.

it is good to be good ccna admin to learn step by step I can speed up the lecture :-) The narrator is clear and presents the information very simply Easy to follow for a noob like myself.

well put together

pretty good looks fine seems well structured, but only just started Great course well put together It is a good match for me Excellent CCNA course.

The videos are well put together and organized but it's tricky to follow the hands-on parts.

It is, however, one of the best and most well put together Udemy courses I've taken and does a good job giving you a solid foundation for studying for the CCNA Progress has been good, the lectures made it easy to understand.

I haven't gone through the whole course yet but what I have gone through has been very informative and well put together.

I'm not to terribly far into the course yet, but so far I can say that it is very well put together and not nearly as dry of a course as I've seen in the past.

because material is easy to understand It's clear enough to listen to while walking around at work The material is well put together and thought out.

Speaking as someone just diving into networking this last year, the explanations given here are very well put together and straight forward.

Very well put together and informative without being boring.

Thabks Chirs The series seems very well put together and accessible.

Seems very well put together so far Still early in the course High level of detail.

cbt nuggets

As good /better than CBT nuggets.

I have tried another well respected teacher on CBT Nuggets and he (Jeremy) starts to get on you nerves after a couple of lessons.

To be fair, CBT Nuggets has great illustrations and interesting graphics, but overall this course is more interesting.

I watched this and CBT Nuggets but preferred the detail in this course.

I read several books over the material, studied these videos along with CBT Nuggets as well and finally the transcender website is great.

Overall, Chris's instructional tone is much more palatable than the instructor for CBT nuggets who I felt was energetic to the point that It was tiring instead of compelling.

Perfect addition and expansion to the concepts I learned in CBT Nuggets.

CBT Nuggets is ok for basics, Chris takes it to an advanced level with practical hands on labs for a whole other level of understanding!

The ability to write with a stylus onto the graphics as recording would bring this up to the level of CBT nuggets which costs 100's.

I bought this course and I also subscribed to the popular, out going guy on CBT Nuggets.

Oh well, looks like it's back to the Todd Lammle Sybex CCNA 200-125 study manual and CBT Nuggets....

even after download you have to rename and label each section and etc.... i emailed Chris asking for a simple method to download all files in one go ...which wont take forever and guess what no reply for 20 $ he can stuff it.. i wont let this affect my course ...cheap thing always cost more in the long run .. Im going to look around for something better .. cbt nuggets might just do the trick.

Better than CBT Nuggets Very informative about what is to be expected with the new exams, I was freaking out initially when I found out that I paid for "old" exams but knowing that I would get the new videos as a part of buying this made me feel better.

Comparable to the videos on CBT Nuggets.

with real world examples

Yes, so far very informative with real world examples Leans heavy on prior knowledge Really good, just a couple of terms being used that were never defined Seems like an instructor you can stand behind and really listen to.

The theory is well explained with real world examples included where applicable.

Detailed explanations provided in a way that can be understood by students at any level of experience with Cisco products Chris makes the material easy to understand with real world examples.

He also backs it up with real world examples and advice.

Lectures are clear, concise and to the point with real world examples of problem areas based on his experience.

i love this Only a few videos in and I'm enjoying the instructors pacing and in depth explanation with real world examples.

video boot camp

Easily the best video boot camp I have ever watched.

I strongly recommend this video boot camp!!

This video boot camp is amazing!

I want to thank you Chris, I purchased your CCNA 200-120 Video Boot Camp 2 months ago.

Without doubt, Christ Bryant knows his stuff, and is able to share his knowledge to a future generation of CCNA/CCNP graduates through his easy to understand video boot camp.

Passed with flying colors...on to your CCNA Security video boot camp.

I highly recommend his study guides, but the real value is his Video Boot Camp.

well laid out

I find transitions from topic to topic to be well laid out and this course is really helping me to grasp some difficult concepts that can be confusing when reading text books.

it give me strong knowledge in the field It helped me get my certification The course is well laid out and comprehensive.

This course is really well laid out, you begin to understand things from the outset.

The classes are very well laid out and taught in a manner that mkes it easier to retain the information.

Very good So far the material is very well laid out and covered.

Very well laid out and explained perfectly!

Clear and well laid out.

frame relay

Even if it was, Chris kind of expects you to "know" how to setup frame relay (it's not explained how to do it on physical equipment and labs are based on it).

Example of this would be the labs for NBMA networks through frame relay..

Maybe you could show how you do certain setups if it's never been taught. For example, frame relay in icnd1 topics You cannot beat the amount of good info for the price.

An example would be any of the labs using a Frame Relay network.

If you've never built a Frame Relay network in a physical lab or on a simulator you're going to need to do some searching to find the answers because the configurations are not covered in the videos.

It would benefit from the Frame-Relay setup video being early in the course, before any frame relay labs are conducted.

There was one or two sections that were muddled up by injecting frame relay into the discussion..

I'm a very fast learner but found myself jumping forward and back through the lessons just to learn Frame Relay setup for the loopback section as well as going to outside resources.

Most of the labs use Frame Relay to emulate the WAN.

Can use some pics to see the types of cables Very good Frame Relay is used in the labs but it’s not included in the CCNA This course came highly recommended, and it's an excellent supplement to Cisco Networking courses I'm taking at Hudson Valley Community College.

cisco press books

I have been reading the Cisco Press books and the videos are feeling in a few things that were not clear by just reading the books.

For someone running through to re-certify, this looks infinitely better for presenting the material than wading through Cisco Press books.

I feel like having those earlier like in the Cisco Press books would be beneficial to understanding other sections.

Other resources included Cisco Press books and lab simulations.

I watched the videos thoroughly and read the Cisco Press books and I felt more than prepared for the exams.

A good comparison is to look at the Cisco Press books, or take a Network Academy course.

I read through the Cisco Press books for the majority of the finer details to study for the exam, but found these videos to be the perfect supplementation to the books for explaining the topics I struggled with and helped me finally pass the CCNA exam My instructor from the local Cisco Networking Academy recommended your course as a supplement to the classes.
