Programming for Complete Beginners in C#
”
The content of the course is delivered in a very clear manner by a programming instructor who really seems to know his stuff. Additionally, the instructor actively answers student questions posted in the course discussions. If you want a good beginning C# course. — Jake Jones
Here’s the
This is the And it’s especially right for anyone who dreams of becoming a software programmer but hasn’t the faintest idea of how to begin.
Here’s great news: If you can type, install a program using a Wizard, and open the File Explorer, you’re ready to begin.
It’s true. If you have a computer (or access to one), have typing ability, and know how to browse files, YOU can learn to program one of today’s most popular and fastest-growing computer platforms, C#. Yes, you could learn C# online and become a successful software programmer with our C# course, “Programming for Complete Beginners in C#.”
What is C#...
First, say C# like this: “See Sharp,” just like the music note. When it comes to computer programming language, C# is the best place for a newbie to start. Why? Because it’s simple to learn, well supported and maintained, and extremely versatile.
...and WHY should I take this C# course?
You’re a newcomer to coding? Your job is to You’ll learn C#’s programming language, its syntax, with clear instruction and detailed videos. And you’ll write code. Lots of code.
Learning the code is Job 1. That’s what this course will teach you. Later comes problem solving, and learning how to create and organize large-scale solutions that are reusable, testable, and of high quality. But all that’s later.
Want to program? You MUST learn to write code
The BEST way to become a highly proficient C# programmer is to write code — LOTS of code. And you’ll be writing, writing, and writing in this highly focused course. You’ll get limber with nearly 100 warm up exercises you’ll use to practice and increase your fluency in C# language fundamentals.
You’ll receive and own over 48 lectures, eight quizzes, and more than six and a half hours of focused content — complete instruction on how to understand the solid foundation of C# Programming language.
Get ready to dive right into the code because you’ll actually create real, live applications that run in the console. You’ll get in there and declare and manipulate variables. You’ll write “Flow of Control” statements we call “Loops and Conditions.”
On your path to becoming an expert programmer, will learn how to create methods for code reuse and readability. Cool. And you’ll keep it all nice an neat by learning to organize your code into related classes.
You’re about to learn the secrets of today’s most powerful and popular programming language
You’ll start your C# course with a full overview of C# — our “sales pitch” on why it’s today’s must-learn programming language. Then we’ll show you how to download and install Visual Studio Express.
You’ll start your first code-writing lesson by writing the classic “Hello World” to your screen. Pay attention because there’s a Quiz afterward. Having written it, you’ll then deconstruct your Hello World application so you can see the bits and pieces that form a C# application.
You’ll learn new lingo starting with “Types.” In C#, everything is a type — they define all interactions between objects, variables, and parameters. (Lost in the lingo already? Don’t worry about it. C# language is easy to learn and it’s all in our C# online course.)
You’ll watch a detailed, seven-minute demo videos so you can learn about reading data from the console. And then a 15-minute video demo demystifying “Comments and Format Settings.”
You’ll continue watching, learning, and being grilled on your knowledge. We’ll explain and demonstrate “Expressions and Operators.” And quiz you on them, too. Learn about “If Statements.” Discover “Live Coding” in our chapters, “Flip a Coin 1 and 2.” Then “Lucky Sevens.” Check it out.
You’ll learn about “For Loops,” “Conditional Statements & Loops, Classes & Methods and much, much, much, much more…you’ll learn all about C# in ten sections and 56 chapters in all.
Here’s why learning C# is the It offers those new to programming many, many advantages. It’s growing in popularity with programmers by leaps and bounds. That’s a trend we’ve seen for many years — C# is becoming more and more popular every year.

so far
Seems really good so far.
It’s very detailed So far the instructor seems clear and informative.
But generally the course is really informative and worth completing Great course, learnt a lot so far!
Currently halfway through the course and really enjoying it so far!
Console.WriteLine("So far I'm loving this course!
Excellent course so far, right tone, right speed, right approach and good explaination !
So far great for beginners some of the example are too high level.
This beginning course is the best I have seen so far.
well thought out, great so far.
The code you learned is explained well and it even covers more advanced uses of the concepts you've learned, and Eric is both professional and comprehensive in his instructions, even going so far as to give special notices to areas you will likely see in job interviews and areas you should study for.
The course is strong so far but needs more activities so that the user can pragmatically begin programming and compare/contrast with what's right.
Excelente, so far one of my best class i've ever had.
The class provide for beginner, and it bring you through some of the very critical part of the c# advanced topics, very clean and clear, one of my most favorite course so far!
Excellent so far, very clear and well structured!

visual studio
Provavelmente devido à versão do Visual Studio disponível, as telas estão um pouco diferentes.
The Visual Studio does not seem to be working quite exactly as in the video anymore (of course, unless I messed up installation somehow) Not able to resume my course.
Pros: -Easy to understand -In depth explanations -Real World applications -Teaches some useful tricks and shortcuts Cons: If I was to state one con, it would be that, as a relatively new coder, and as one who used monodevelop instead of visual studio mostly, I had to pause a LOT to catch up with his coding.
I think this is an excellent intro to C#, and even people who prior programming experience can use it to learn new things about both C# and the power of Visual Studio!
The demos that were shown were great, however he instructor made a huge mistake by not having line numbers turned on in his Visual Studio window.
Visual Studio).
I like how this introduces a lot of terms and shows how Visual Studio looks and works.
hard to make an accurate assessment at this stage It was a great introduction to C# and Visual Studio.
He also communicates helpful hints for using Visual Studio for a beginner, again, such as myself.
As I watch the video, I can work in visual studio at the same time.
Can't see the video clearly its good his explenation is very nice and shows examples and that kind of stuff The audio for the lesson on how to install Visual Studio is very muted and of low quality.
All of the instructions are fantastic, the only issue I've experienced thus far was that lecture 2 for some reason was quite significantly lower audio than the others Because a few things, although explained, look very different to newer versions of the Visual Studio program.
I just started this course and I already know so much about C# and how powerful it is, as well as visual studio and it's many features available to the user.
Thank you Few things were new to me and hence not very clear, but very few, probably they'll become clearer in next lessons or when i start using visual studio myself.

live coding
Sometimes Eric would drop a term and not explain it or during the live coding would rush though a particular complex part without really explaining why he was doing it.
I like the inclusion of the live coding errors made, debugging and resolution.
Live coding sessions were particularly useful for me as they let me get more familiar with how actual code is written and how it looks.
Eric's live coding and demos are invaluable to understanding the lectures - I highly suggest writing the code yourself along with him whenever possible.
Eric does a very good job at explaining some fundamental concepts of programming, and at the same time giving some great live coding sessions as examples of those concepts.
I've watched only two videos so far (on if or else statements), but based on that I can tell that the theoretical part was great, and the video with Live Coding was even more helpful.
I enjoyed the live coding exercises as an opportunity to see each concept in action, and after completing the course, the included warm-up exercises provide a very helpful way to practice what you've learned.
A bit quicker than most programming courses with a lot less emphasis on just live coding and explaining while it runs.
This course takes the time to explain the fundamentals during slideshows, detail them further with code examples that are explained, and THEN use them in a live coding exercise.
Everything is explained clearly and the live coding sessions are really fun to follow along with!
The sections which helped the most were the live coding exercises.
All lectures are clear and understandable and include interesting Live coding exercises with each section re-enforced by subject specific and relevant questions too.
The demonstrations and live coding exercises build on my learning.
The live coding demonstrations are very helpful.

step by step
If you are new to programming this course is excellent, Eric is really explaining step by step and has the ability to visualize all the theory into real life situations that one actually can identify one self with.
It provides you a step by step with not so steep learning curve and gives you a good foundation to learn the other advance courses.
Its step by step covering each and every small details.
It includes lots of useful topics and a step by step demo guide.
I like the step by step approach.
Very good tutorial and easy to understand i like the way the instructor explains things step by step.
This course is great start as a beginner, the explanation is good step by step, thank you share with us your skills.
Instructor is speaking at a good pace, and he is covering everything step by step I'm just a kid, its too complicated for me Everything so far looks straight forward and easy to understand For now it is what I hoped for.

easy to follow along
Easy to follow along and paced just right.
It was very clear to understand and easy to follow along.
It was easy to follow along.
His voice is very easy to follow along with - And he speaks at a pace in which it is easy to follow-along with It's a very good course so far, explaining not only how to write a code, but also how to get used to visual studio, which is very helpful I am running a linux operating system and I got the Hello world app to run based on what the instructor said to do in the video plus a little reseach.
Console.WriteLine("hello world"); Console.ReadLine(); nice speed easy to follow along with dual monitors looking forward to more Clear course for beginners Thank you very much for putting you time into it and making this wonderful course.

rather than
Some of the more advanced topics will take more research, though that's more due to the complexity of the concepts rather than Eric's explanation - and he warns you about this in advance, too.
I feel like PowerPoint-type slides should simply be an attachment that the User can download as a reference (rather than being a significant part of the visual experience for the User/Student).
Rather than telling us why we're doing something, the instructor just keeps plodding along writing code that means nothing to the student.
Eric speaks clearly, at an easy pace, and really focuses teaching the fundamentals rather than just hacking out code and telling his viewers to follow along like many youtubers do.
I have started (sometimes completed) many introductory programming courses over the last few years, and this was the first one that taught an honest foundation rather than trickery.
A great foundation course, things are becoming clearer and i have actually started creating some of my own things rather than just following tutorials.

each section
Also the exercises should be placed after the section they correspond to, each section should have 10 exercises so you can practice.
It would have been better if there are more practice and answers at the end of each sections.
Each section had a lot of talk and notes, and not much in the way of demos.
I thought this course was clear, covered the fundamentals very well, and I liked the tests at the end of each section Doesn't seem to be like introductory class, the instructor doesn't provide more details on the properties, syntax, etc.
First: each section is broken into three main parts.
3 a Quiz at the end of each section to help reinforce what you have just learned.
Second: He has made the power point presentation that he uses for each video Lecture available for download in the downloads area of each section.
(if you don't have power point you can still use the free power point viewer from Microsoft to view them) Third: All of the code that you see in his videos can be downloaded in the downloads area of each section and I am sure that they will make great reference material in the future as I continue to improve my programming skills.. Fourth: along with teaching the fundamentals of programming in C#, he helps you to learn how to apply "best practices" so that the code you write today will be easy for you or someone else to understand in the future.

keep up
The only reason I keep up is because I have a basic foundation in iOS SWIFT Programming language which is really close to C# syntax.
The instructor talks to quickly through each example and its can be difficult to keep up.
The instructor for this course moves at a great pace, not too slow where it is boring but not too fast where you can't keep up.
Though the content of this series was all relevant/useful information, the pacing far exceeds what most "complete beginners" can keep up with.

The instructor presented the material in an excellent manner, it was coherant, and well thought out.
The material covered is well thought out and provided everything a new programmer needs.
This course really takes you from scratch to being comfortable with the syntax and structure Well thought out presentation finally i get understand class , method, field ..... very concise !
