As a Beginner starting on this special Journey to learn First Aid & CPR, this lecture will take you through the global terms used, what contribution you can make as a LifeSaver trained to manage injuries and provide CPR. This is not a Medical Course but is intended to empower every citizen and non medico to do the best possible if you witness any injury! So before you learn the nuances, the best place to start is to know everything you can about the subject!

In this lecture we talk about common household injuries like sprains and strains.  Common in any age bracket, this is one skill that will help you to alleviate the pain of people around you if it were to happen. Easy to manage, these injuries usually have no serious impact but  can be painful until they heal completely. Allergies can develop as small hives, rashes or sometimes into other forms as well. People can be prone to triggers that might cause these. With completing this lesson, you will understand the various degrees of burns, how to identify which degree it is just by looking at the burn. Also, what first aid to provide for each degree. Choking can happen anywhere and might seem like a small thing, but can be serious if the object that is stuck is not dislodged quickly. The technique to dislodge the object requires force and once you know the technique you can actually save a life with it. The risks of Drowning can last for over 24 hours after the incident. This, and the ways to manage both primary and secondary drowning is what this lecture will teach you. Heart Attacks are the number 1 reason of death globally. Often the only possible management might be to rush the person to an intensive care unit. But as a 91 FATE LifeSaver, you can offer first aid and management until the medical help arrives or until the person can be reached to the unit. This can range from moving the person in the correct manner, acting fast, calling in the ambulance and in a situation when required offering CPR or using an AED machine if available.  This lecture will take you through the situation and equip you to be quick and correct in managing this situation if it were to occur. This lecture is going to prepare you to identify strokes as they happen. With quick techniques to confirm whenever you have a doubt that someone around you might be having a stroke, you can run the quick test and initiate immediate medical action. A stroke needs critical medical attention within the first four hours to prevent permanent damage and thus it is a skill that might help you to prevent a strokes victim from developing any lifelong disability. AEDs are usually placed at Malls, Airports, Railway Stations, Metro Stations and in many cities they may also be available in other Public Places. The lecture shows you what the symbols are so that you can identify the presence of an AED if you encounter any person who needs help. It also teaches you how to unpack the machine, how to set it up, and the method to administer the shock to the person in order to help the person revive. CPR is a hands only reviving technique that you can offer to anyone who is unresponsive and is in a medical emergency. By the time you are at this lecture you already know how to identify an emergency and if a person is responsive or not. Many of the earlier mentioned events and injuries can make a person unresponsive and it might require administration of CPR or the use of AED when it is available. CPR is a tiring process however you can on the spot train someone around you to alternate it with you as well.
