Extension Health in All Decisions (HiAD)

Health in All Decisions (HiAD) is a collaborative approach to improving the health of all people by incorporating health, equity, and sustainability considerations into decision-making across sectors and policy areas.

The Extension Committee on Organization and Policy HiAD Education priority area action team developed an online training module to build HiAD capacity of Extension professionals as health partners in decision-making processes and outcomes. The mission of the ECOP HiAD Education priority area is to focus the Cooperative Extension on the convergence of health in all decisions that shape the social, economic, and environmental contexts in which people live and visit as a strategy to positively impact population health. By working from a systems perspective, the HiADE action team developed this education resource to strengthen Extension’s role and capacity to impact the culture of and context for population health improvement and promote health equity for all U.S. residents.
