The unique reasons for taking this course are:

  • Complete, Concise, Confident Overview of  Scrum - You will be confident that you have learned Scrum as the founders intended because I only teach accurately from the rule-book of Scrum.

  • Confidence in completing a Scrum Certification - I teach you everything you need to gain confidence in the exam and then guide you on how to get certified online without going into a class room or spending $1000. I send you to the Scrum Open Assessment so you can practice before taking the final certification (Exam purchased separately - I will give you links directly to it).

  • You get to ask me questions and see me respond to every single one of them thoughtfully.

Includes Narration from Ted R. Brown

    What is Scrum?

Agile Scrum is a simple method for managing and completing even the most complex project.  Based on my experience, it has also been the number one reason why projects have delivered on time.

                      Who should take is course?

Whether you are a scrum master, product owner, team member, business stakeholder or simply someone who wants to understand what makes scrum tick, this is the place to start.  If you are preparing for a scrum master certification or other scrum certification, this class is for you.

      What will I learn?

In this class you will learn:

    • Concise overview of Scrum - The exact events, roles, rules and artefacts used to deliver a project using scrum along with the history of Scrum.  This includes lectures on the fundamentals of Sprint Planning, The Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective, Scrum Artefacts and more.

    • The facts based on the Scrum Guide - The correct terminology and use of Scrum is essential to mastering it. The Scrum Guide is the rule book on Scrum and many do not use it or know it.

    • Scrum Certification Preparation - A summary of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and frequently misunderstood points around Scrum that have been in past Open Assessment exams.

    • Scrum Certification - I then tell you how to prepare for Scrum Certification and how to sit it online saving you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.

The course is video based with no supporting document necessary.  I go through key gotchas from the scrum guide.

The perfect recap for experts and scrum for beginners + Scrum Master Certification Preparation

Learn Scrum & prepare for your Scrum Master or Agile certification based on the Scrum Guide™ v2020  ( 2020 scrum guide  ) .

      How is the course structured?

Each section features an overview of a particular aspect of Scrum such as Scrum Roles, Events, or Artefacts, followed by a summary of key exam points and frequent misunderstandings in industry.  All is based on the scrum guide so you know that you are learning the facts.

Perfect if you are interested in Scrum Master Certification, Scrum Master Jobs, increasing your Scrum Master Salary, gaining a Scrum Master Role, furthering your Scrum Master Training or meeting a Scrum Master job description.

    open assessment

-Scrum.org has an open assessment that you can take for free which is comprised of the 30 easiest questions you may find on the scrum exam.

-Went through this course twice, - read scrum Guide 4-5 times - attempted open assessment till i started getting more than 95% consistently - Took overall 5 days with 3 hours of reading/day - passed PSM 1 in first attempt :) The content, instructions, and delivery method are all done very well.

Took the open assessment and this course was a tremendous help !!

Although I do not know how to get my course certificate for completion, Ib have passed every open assessment.

it's good and useful Great overview....I've taken the 'open assessment' for the PSM1 test several times and can say that this course seems to have prepared me well for taking the exam.

    - Doing the open assessment again and again until 100 % - Additional example tests/ Quizzes with scrum questions Very intensive learning in a short "time-box" of 4 days all in all ;-) clear and straight forward The apps display, like the website, is split with the presentation not given enough space while the agenda takes up entirely too much screen real estate.

Of course I also took the Open Assessment at Scrum.org and also at a few other sites to gauge how well I understood the Scrum guide.

Do take note, you will benefit from reading the Nexus Guide and open assessment, as well, for the PSM I, as there a few questions from there.

    I took a scrum.org Open Assessment.

So all in all, I think I can conclude that this course was quite useful, since it helped me pass the open assessment mostly based on what I had learned and based on the annotated scrum guide (were the annotations helpful?

Interestingly, the open assessment on Scrum.org also missed these type of questions.

Although I passed, it was a scramble, and neither this course nor the open assessment prepared me as well as I would have hoped.

Relying only upon this course, I took to open assessment today without looking at the Scrum guide in detail yet and still managed 66% on the first try.

The course is worth taking and I was able to pass the PSM 1 from scrum.org in one attempt, however I must say that just going though this course and the open assessment on scrum.org is not enough to pass the exam because the questions you will get in the exam would be a bit tricky.

    read the scrum guide

All you need is to read the scrum guide is true but deceptive.

The highlighted Scrum Guide provided was super-helpful to focus on major concepts, however be sure to read and re-read the Scrum Guide in it's entirety to understand everything presented.

read the scrum guide again before you take the exam.

I read the scrum guide prior to statrting this course and so far I am very impressed Excelente, en realidad es mejor de lo que esperaba.

Initially I read the scrum guide and could hardly understand the contents.

Prior to attending the course I´ve read the Scrum Guide twice, so to be honest it did not add much.

Attended this course, read the Scrum Guide, did PSM1 certification exam.

Read the Scrum Guide first, then watch all the videos.

I'm guessing if I had read the Scrum Guide first, I would have known the answers.

Read the Scrum Guide cover to cover!!

I studied this course, read the Scrum Guide, followed the assessment training advice in the course and passed the PSM I.

Read the Scrum guide and gave the exam.

I did not read the scrum guide with the highlights.

Eu já trabalhei com o framework Scrum, e estou me preparando para a certificação e esse curso me ajudou muito, obrigado Paul I went through this course once, went through the test prep modules again, took the OA 4 times, and read the Scrum guide twice, all in 3 days.

    project management

I do a lot of learning on the job, but the course pulls together lots of my knowledge and identifies the theory behind the scrum methodology The main point and changes in the scrum guide are well explained and highlighted to bring to the fore what really should be the focus of the scrum master and other scrum roles in project management The course is well structured, and gave me a good and consistent overview of SCRUM, where the quizzes helped to review the lessons learned.

My experience is more traditional, waterfall project management and some of the terminology and even the philosophy of agile was lost on me.

This is a very good course even for someone like me who is experienced in project management and developed an application using RAD methodology.

I'm using this course to start building my project management skills.

It is an appropriate manner of project management on many systems besides software.

After many decades of project management and various other roles, it's always advantageous to see things through other views and particularly other industries.

Easy to follow and the content is just in-depth enough for someone with project management knowledge but new to scrum.

I have 5-years experience in project management using Waterfall.

A clear explanation on what is Scrum and the differences with the classical project management methods O curso até agora está se mostrando muito interessante.

I am getting introduced to some new concepts related to project management; am excited.

my team has been struggling to cope with change and seems to be using the Waterfall method of project management over the Agile method.

    step by step

The guider clear the concept step by step and it's very easy to understand.

In a past team setting, my team used waterfall with a project that ended up with frustrations and was unable to complete project in time Awesome step by step training.. Poor visuals, poor voice over (feels way too improvised), quiz questions come at points during the course about topics not covered yet.

If you're new to Agile and Scrum, I also took Agile Project Management, Scrum Step by Step, and Scrum Master Training: Case Studies and Confessions, both from Paul Ashun before taking this course, and went in to the PSM I assessment very well prepared with a strong understanding of Scrum.

Teaches you step by step how to improve teams work This was a great introductory course, but in real life and in exam there's more to scrum!

Should be a few lessons about the topic to review the concepts and then step by step instructions using real examples.

Its key to understand the fundamentals of scrum, once this is understood, everything falls into place and makes sense I like the details providing , step by step guide and summary.

However, I would have wanted the real life example of a complex project and step by step artifacts created and practice to get those evaluated Love your course, Paul.

i have detailed understanding but i am looking for something step by step .

I would propose to introduce some sample small (imaginary) project on which the scrum would be described step by step.

    professional scrum master

Additionally, the how to get ready for Professional Scrum Master1 exam I was meticulously prepared.

yes Exactly what I was looking for Good course very good course to learn more about scrum Could be improved by more up to date sets of test exercises Thank you ,happy to share that i successfully passed the Professional Scrum Master certification.

I'm utterly recommend this to anyone who either want to gain knowledge of Scrum framework or prepare to acquire certified PSM aka Professional Scrum Master.

I recommend this course to anyone pursuing the Scrum.org Professional Scrum Master certification.

I enrolled in this course primarily to learn about Scrum and to pass the Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification from Scrum.org.

I just passed the Professional Scrum Master certification (PSM-I) exam.

This is the only Scrum course I have taken and it provided enough information for me to pass the Professional Scrum Master 1 (PSM1) course from Scrum.org on my first attempt!

This course prepared me to successfully pass the scrum.org Professional Scrum Master Level 1 Certification exam.

    my first attempt

I passed my PSM1 yesterday with 91.3% in my first attempt.

i passed PSM1 in my first attempt.

I followed Paul's suggestions for prep work and voila ...passed PMS1 on my first attempt.

My first attempt at learning Scrum without any previous knowledge of the official Scrum Guide.

UPDATE: I passed on my first attempt w/a 77/80...this class definitely helped...I highly recommend complementing it with a few practice test sites to get used to the way Scrum.Org words questions and how they think (and a deep Scrum Guide review is mandatory!

I am glad I took this course, it was very helpful and I passes my CSM exam with a 100% score on my first attempt.

so far it's focused on real stuff but some questions within quiz are made before lessons Great course but needs more quizzes and more knowledge on how to pass exam or land opportunity I passed on my first attempt with 86% by reading the book and studying with that course.

    product owner

    - scrum.org also has free open assessments for the product owner, developer (more complicated ), nexus open.

Can scrum master or product owner be part of development team?

He has taken the role of product owner and I have become Scrum Master.

it only cover what written on scrum.org , not area that i face during the exam, like Technical debt , conflict Management and the approach to solve the issue like , what happen when team don't want to follow scrum meeting like daily scrum meeting, what happen if product owner i not clear about the PBI...etc...

As for the rest (being ex-scrum master and ex-product owner) it's prettty good content Just speaking of my own experience here..

Wanted to know more about story development my product owner to for a product backlog Vertical slicing concept is also missed.. An example of how a large ERP project be run as a scrum would be helpful to understand how multiple system integration.. Flow of data across business process..etc Got my Scrum Master Certification last night.

Great content, really simple and objective but in my opinion lack some techniques from the tutor experience on how to run the Scrum events on the ground with the Scrum Master, Product Owner and the Dev Team Great course, I will add more examples in real life.

I've been a product owner in an Agile development environment for about 3 years now and took this course to help me understand how to be more productive and disciplined in the way I approach projects and planning.

As I often find myself having to wear this hat, in addition to my product owner responsibilities, I wanted to gain a more clear understanding of the role to make sure I'm not missing any key points of the process.

One tip from me: My assessment was quite heavy on the role of the Product Owner and the questions were going very deep.

are their any plans to create a similar course for the Product Owner cert.?

Prepares you very well for both Scrum Master and Scrum Product Owner exam.

    more real life examples

I just hoped that we made some more real life examples or demos but overall good training and can recommend for others!

What could have made it even better is: - Add more real life examples (i.e.

    4) Add more real life examples!

I did find I wanted more real life examples to relate what was being taught to my work experience.

In my opinione more real life examples would be usefull but maybee it will be covered in the following material.

    broken down

This course was broken down as much as possible, I have never had a real scrum practice but with this course, I now know what to do and expect.

Presented clearly, the quizzes and exams are helpful and areas broken down in the videos for further explaination.

Very well broken down, very approachable.

The instructor is clear and concise and the lectures are broken down into easy-to-comprehend sections.

Yes, it's broken down very well.

The videos are broken down into small chunks and comfortably time-boxed.

The content is broken down to the important points and clearly explains the principles.

very straightforward and broken down in understandable pieces.

I like that each topic is broken down into short video segments.

    software development

I was new to SCRUM in a different industry than software development.

I'm new in this entire matter of software development but I can fully comprehend as it is well explained and supported with examples .

All the points are more related and described as a software development.

This will help me to identify the workflow of each sprint Good so far I am beginner to software development planning and this helped me to get a good idea of whole thing The course is correct, its pretty much all you need to pass the PSM 1 certification :) Passed my certification over a weekend because of the usefulness and details in this course...

Looks like a great way to do Project Management as well as Software development.

I would like to see a couple examples of real-world application, preferably in software development.

I am an experienced leader of agile software development projects and am considering taking my PSM certification.

Practically applicable while working with Software Development Teams.

I definitely recommended it to people with experience in software development projects.
