Master Gardener Online
Heads up! This course may be archived and/or unavailable.
Option 1: Become a Certified Oregon State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer (open to Oregon residents only)
Those interested in applying the concepts learned in the online training course through community volunteer opportunities can become a Master Gardener with this course option (and the requisite volunteer hours).
To become a Master Gardener in your county and receive a badge, participants must complete 40 to 70 hours of on-site volunteer practicum in addition to the online coursework. Master Gardeners must fulfill volunteer and continuing education responsibilities to maintain certification.
Option 2: Certificate of Home Horticulture
The same training Master Gardeners receive in Option 1, for those who want the training but do not want to become a Master Gardener Volunteer. This course will be offered once again in early Winter 2018.
Participants receive a Certificate of Home Horticulture upon successful completion of the online course, which includes forum conversations, quizzes and an exam.
Those who do not need or desire certification or continuing education may take this self-paced series for their own personal and professional development. Click here for details.
