If you are a creative person, then you are probably full of ideas for things to teach! Let us help you decide what to get started on first and how to sort those ideas to choose one to get going on (we can save the rest for later!)

There are several different types of workshop or course that you can explore for example 'teach a skill' or 'make something.' We break down exactly what these types of courses and workshops are to enable you to select the one that works for you and your craft.

There is nothing better than a survey to gather both information for your course but also warm up some interest for when you start. We explain why you would need a survey and where to go to get it completed.

In this video lecture we look at how long your course could be and provide you with some possible suggestions.

And finally in module 1, we put together all of this essential research and work to define exactly what you will teach in your first workshop or course. Don't forget that you can re-visit this module time and time again when you need to come up with a new course or workshop after this first one is complete!

In this video we discuss some of the potential places that you could use to teach your classes and courses.

In this video we will discuss how and why you assess and rate each potential venue available to you.

In this lecture we discuss how to layout your teaching space for your courses.

In this video, Susan, your course tutor shows you a room all laid out for a workshop. A real life example!

We will talk here about what a risk assessment is and how to carry it out. This makes sure that you take care of your students when teaching and that you teach in a safe manner - especially with a practical course that may have tools and materials.

That's right - here's your module 2 homework!! We want you to go and research venues for your teaching.

In this lecture we will discuss and look at how to price your workshop

In this workshops we will look at how to take payments for your workshop.

In this video we discuss discounts on your course prices and whether you should use discounts to increase sales?

Two very important elements of running a business teaching craft workshops are your accounts and making sure you have the correct insurance. This video discusses those two things.

And now it is time for your module 3 homework! We are half-way thought the course - well done!

Marketing your courses to attract potential students is so important to make sure that you make a success of your venture into teaching. There are so many options available to you when marketing, so we will discuss in this video the first few options available to you. We start here by looking at your website.

Continuing on from the previous lecture, we will talk in more depth about marketing and some of the options available for you to use to attract people to book. Including social media and PR.

This video continues on to provide you with even more marketing advice.

Preparation is the key to success and before you get to the actual workshop itself, there are quite a few things that you need to prepare and get ready...

There is nothing more important than testing out your workshop. It will make sure you are confident on the day itself and that you don't forget anything important. We also here look at the information sheets or factsheets that it is worth preparing and taking with you to your course.

There will be lots of things you need to remember to take to your workshop. Here we discuss what these are. We also provide you here with module 5 homework.

In this video we talk about arriving for your workshop - what to do and how to welcome your students. Make a great start to your course!

Let's get on with actually teaching your workshop - this should be the fun part but let's do it right to keep students coming back for more....

In this video we go through a few more helpful pointers for running a great course!
