Tech Explorations™ Raspberry Pi

Full Stack Minibian

UPDATE: 15 March 2018

I have published an new version of this course that uses Raspbian Lite, Python 3, and newer versions of all software and hardware components.

The name of the new course is Tech Explorations™ Raspberry Pi Full Stack Raspbian

Please consider enrolling to the new course, unless you have a specific reason to enrol to the old course

The objective of this course is to take you to a whirlwind tour of the Raspberry Pi, and introduce you to everything that is great about it.

Structured as a project, you will become familiar with the various components that make up the web development stack: the operating system, the hardware (including the GPIOs), the application server, web server, database server, and the Python programming language.

You will also become familiar with Cloud services that you will integrate into your Raspberry Pi-powered web application.

You application will take sensor data and make them available to the user via a web interface that is constructed based on jQuery and HTML5.

You will need a Raspberry Pi, a DHT22 sensor, a button, an LED, a few resistors and a breadboard. If you wish to setup wireless networking on your Raspberry Pi, you will also need a USB Wifi dongle.

To make the most from this course, you should be familiar with basic programming and be comfortable with the command line.

raspberry pi in 34 reviews

It gives me a lot of useful knowledge and fun in the process of learning and research.Hopefully the next time you will continue to add courses useful and the Arduino and raspberry pi.

I thought the course was well produced which helped to understand the material better.

Dr. Dalmaris once again uses his engaging instructional techniques and walks you through building your own fully functional web server using a Raspberry Pi.

Great introduction to raspberry pi!

I had fun and learned lot of things, specially the Python Programming Language, i am so excited about doing projects by myself with my new Raspberry PI 3.

I was pleased to discover that I could use the Raspberry Pi as a fully featured environment for learning the fundamental components of a modern web application.

DC This is a very informative and a fun course, needs a little updating but overall its the best course on raspberry pi !!

step by step in 13 reviews

I'm completely new to all of this but by steadily going through the lectures, step by step and sometimes several times over, I'm progressing really well.

Dr. Peter Dalmaris explains very well step by step and the files are very well documented so the code is easy to read and understand.

The best course i ever learn, very easy way to know how in every leason and step by step to learn.

Hoping to start soon the Arduino step by step course.

Some of the installation processes are a little confusing and would, in my opinion, deserve to be put on pdf as step by step guides to accompany the lessons.

I like the course and the teacher, it went through the project step by step.

The course quality is good, the author is very clear and explain everything step by step, but I tend to believe that there is a mistake on this course title.

I will definitely refer to this course many more times and am looking forward to similar offerings in the future.

Looking forward to pick on the 2018 Raspbian Lite edition though!!

I had been looking for something which handled both web as well as hardware side, and Peter does a great job at both.

In fact, if anyone attempts to install upstart their OS will crash and you will need to re-install the OS on the RPi If you are looking for a good course on getting your Raspberry PI to talk to external devices on the accessory bus and present the date on a web page, this is a great course to take.

Looking forward to take more courses in future!

I'm looking for more his new electronic courses.

Looking forward to get into some of the programming aspects of the course.

I have already signed up for more courses by Peter.

In case you release more courses about Pi in the future, for sure I'm going to be one of your students.

Maybe he can develop some IoT stuff in video replays, make some public voting to keep comunnity together, and make some full projects... Just my idea to make us buy more courses :) Peter thanks on your effort to make Arduino people board.
