May 1, 2024 3 minute read

Curanderismo is a holistic traditional medicine system that originated in Mexico. It is based on the belief that illness is caused by an imbalance of the body's energy fields. Curanderos, or traditional healers, use a variety of techniques to diagnose and treat illnesses, including herbal remedies, massage, and spiritual healing. Curanderismo is still widely practiced in Mexico and other parts of Latin America, and it is increasingly becoming popular in the United States and other Western countries, as more people seek natural and holistic healing methods.
