VMware vSphere High Availability (HA) is an important aspect of VMware's virtualization platform that ensures continuous availability of virtual machines (VMs) in the event of hardware failures. It provides fault tolerance and keeps business-critical applications and services up and running with minimal downtime.

Understanding vSphere HA

vSphere HA consists of a cluster of ESXi hosts that work together to provide redundancy and high availability to VMs. It monitors the health of each ESXi host and automatically restarts failed VMs on an alternative host within the cluster if a host fails. VMs can be configured to automatically restart on a different host, providing near-zero downtime and uninterrupted service for users.

It uses a process called vMotion to migrate the VMs to the new host with minimal disruption to running applications.
