What is the Welfare State?
A welfare state is a system in which the government provides social and economic support to its citizens. These services can include healthcare, unemployment benefits, childcare, and housing assistance. The welfare state is designed to provide a safety net for citizens who are unable to support themselves due to factors such as unemployment, disability, or old age.
