Cell division is the process by which a cell divides into two or more daughter cells. It is essential for growth, development, and reproduction. Cell division occurs in two main stages: mitosis and cytokinesis.
Mitosis
Mitosis is the process by which the cell's nucleus divides. It occurs in four phases: prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase.
During prophase, the chromatin condenses into visible chromosomes. The nuclear envelope breaks down, and the spindle fibers form.
