History of Wine Production
Wine production has a long and storied history. The earliest evidence of winemaking dates back to 6000 BC in the region of present-day Georgia. From there, winemaking spread to other parts of the world, including Mesopotamia, Egypt, and Greece. By the Middle Ages, wine was being produced in all corners of Europe.
The development of new technologies and techniques over the centuries has made wine production more efficient and reliable. Today, wine is produced in over 100 countries around the world.
The Winemaking Process
The winemaking process begins with the harvesting of grapes. The grapes are then crushed and the juice is extracted. The juice is then fermented with yeast, which converts the sugars in the juice into alcohol. The wine is then aged in barrels or tanks for a period of time, which allows it to develop its flavors and aromas.
