The Job Entry Subsystem (JES) is a subsystem of the z/OS operating system that manages the execution of batch jobs and interactive sessions. JES is responsible for receiving job submissions from users, scheduling jobs for execution, and managing the resources that are required to run jobs. JES also provides a number of facilities that help users to monitor and control the execution of their jobs. These technologies provide foundation skills for roles in the IT technology domain.
