Materials and Techniques
Watercolor painting requires a few basic materials: watercolor paints, brushes, and paper. Watercolor paints come in a wide range of colors and can be used in either tube or pan form. Watercolor brushes are typically made from natural materials, such as sable or squirrel hair, and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Watercolor paper is specially designed to absorb water and hold the paint without buckling or tearing.
