A Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack is a type of cyberattack in which a malicious actor attempts to make a computer system or network resource unavailable to its intended users. DoS attacks can take many forms, but all share the common goal of disrupting the victim's ability to access or use the targeted resource. DoS attacks can be launched from a single computer or from multiple computers working together in a botnet. They can be targeted at any type of computer system or network resource, including websites, servers, routers, and even entire networks.
Types of DoS Attacks
There are two main types of DoS attacks: Volumetric attacks and protocol attacks.
