The Past Perfect Tense is a verb tense used to describe an action that happened before another action in the past. It is formed by using the past tense of the auxiliary verb "have" (had) followed by the past participle of the main verb. For example, "I had eaten dinner before she arrived." In this sentence, "had eaten" is the past perfect tense of "eat".
